CELEBRATING NATIONAL HAMBURGER MONTH

May is National Hamburger Month, a celebration of one of the greatest foods ever created and an Urbery favourite.

At Urbery, we love hamburgers – we love thick, juicy Angus burgers, chicken burgers, even veggie burgers! Hamburgers really are the quintessential barbeque item and since May ushers in the barbeque season, we think this holiday celebration is perfect.

We asked our Grocery Gurus for their favourite ways to dress a hamburger – and boy did we get some interesting answers!

1. The Great Canadian
“I call my burger the Great Canadian because of my secret ingredient – maple syrup! There’s no veggie filler in this burger – I top it with real Canadian bacon, swiss cheese, and of course, maple syrup.”

2. Veggie Delight
“As a vegetarian, I prefer my burgers of the veggie variety. In true veggie fashion, I top my burger with as much fresh produce as possible – onions (thinly sliced), tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, hot peppers, avocado, mushrooms, and a little kale if it’s available.”

“When it comes to hamburgers, I don’t discriminate – give me everything! I like to start with the condiments – mustard, mayo, relish, and ketchup, I’ll even add hot sauce if it’s there.
